Käärijä was elected to represent Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2023, with the song Cha Cha Cha. The UMK, the country’s national selection, took place this Saturday in Logomo.
There were seven contestants: Robin Packalen was the first on stage and the Portion Boys were the last. Three guests also performed: Bess opened the show and the interval acts were The Rasmus (last year’s winners) and Samu Haber.
The results were determined by the public (75 percent) and by an international jury (25 percent) with representatives from Australia, Germany, Poland, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom and Ukraine.
The most voted by the jury were Käärijä, who also won the public voting by a clear margin. In the sum of the two votings, Käärijä was the winner and will represent Finland at the ESC 2023 with the song Cha Cha Cha.
