VIDEO: Mariam Shengelia represents Georgia at Eurovision 2025 with ‘Freedom’

The 37 participants at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2025 are now known. Georgia announced Mariam Shengelia as its representative this Friday.

The singer will perform the song Freedom, which was an internal selection by the broadcaster GPB. Georgia was the last country to reveal its plans for the contest, which will take place in May in the city of Basel.

Freedom has lyrics by Buka Kartozia (in English and Georgian) and composition by Keti Gabisiani. Mariam Shengelia had previously been in the running to represent Georgia at ESC 2020 when she participated in the local version of Idols and finished in sixth place.

The 22-year-old artist was also a semifinalist on X Factor in the country. She was the runner-up on the Georgian version of Dancing with the Stars, finishing in second place.
