Picture: e-FestivalPT The competing songs at the Festival da Canção 2025 were presented this morning. The event, as usual, will choose Portugal’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC).
RTP invited 14 songwriters and selected another six through open submission. The vast majority chose to perform their own songs, a trend that has been increasingly observed in recent years.
Once again, the Festival da Canção will have two semi-finals (ten songs in each, with six advancing) and a final. It will take place on February 22, March 1, and March 8 at the RTP studios in Lisbon.
The results will be determined by the public and the jury, with the sixth song to advance from each semi-final being voted on only by the public in a second round of voting.
