Vidbir 2025 stage unveiled Picture: Suspilne

It is now known what the stage for Vidbir 2025 will look like, which will elect Ukraine’s representative at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) next Saturday.

The design allows for a space that will create a 360º view of the artists, with three sections of the stage: a main stage, a podium in the middle, and an area dedicated to the jurors at the back. The work is by Herman Nenov, who stated in a statement:

– When creating the stage, I set two main goals. First, the stage must introduce the public to all the finalists, so it was important for me that it became a portrait-like setting. The second goal was that the stage’s configuration should resemble the Eurovision stage. To do this, we created six separate stage platforms”.

Boris Pustovy from Starlight Production, who is working with Suspilne on Vidbir, commented: “For us, this national selection for Eurovision is about Ukrainian hope. It’s about giving the strongest signal of unity, strength, and light to a country that, for the third year, continues its full-scale resistance against the enemy. The darkest moment comes just before dawn. This show is a great omen that Ukrainian music, talent, and faith will fill millions of viewers. […]. The structure, filming techniques, and stage design configuration will give a sense of a great European celebration of unity, with the main stars being the Ukrainian voices and the light of our faith in victory. The stage platforms will create the best variety of opportunities for our participants’ performances”.
