The 24 contestants at the Chefsache ESC 2025, Germany’s new selection format for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC), have been revealed.

The announcement was made by the broadcaster NDR/ARD this Tuesday. The German competition will feature four shows between February and March. On February 14 and 15, there will be two semi-finals with 12 artists each, competing for a spot in the semi-final on February 22.

During this phase, broadcasted on RTL, the results will be determined by a rotating jury that includes Elton, Stefan Raab, and Yvonne Catterfeld. The grand final will be aired on ARD on March 1, and it will be the public who decides the results and, consequently, the winner and Germany’s representative.

NDR/ARD is aiming for a good result in this new partnership with Stefan Raab – who has a long history of involvement with Germany’s ESC entries, being the driving force behind Unser Star für Oslo, which in 2010 selected Lena, who would bring Germany back to victory.
