There will be 38 countries participating in the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2025. The event will take place in Basel (Switzerland) on May 13, 15, and 17.
For the first time since 2018, all the countries from the previous year are staying in the competition. It is also the year with the most participants since 2022, when there were 40.
This is thanks to the return of Montenegro, which had been absent from the last two editions. After a controversy in the national selection that forced the winners NeonoeN, Montenegro will be represented by Nina Žižić with the song Dobrodošli.
This will be the 69th edition of the ESC, the first in Switzerland since 1989. The country was the winner in 2024, with the song The Code by Nemo.
