Stage for Sanremo 2025 Festival unveiled Picture: © RAI

Less than two weeks remain until the Sanremo Festival 2025, and this Wednesday, the first image of the stage at the Teatro Ariston was revealed.

The set design was created by Riccardo Bocchini, who had previously designed the stages for the 2015, 2016, and 2017 editions. It is described as a Techno Hall, a 360º stage that can change its appearance and create different atmospheres from song to song.

The architect explained the concept to RAI’s website: “The sculptures/walls will rotate in three dimensions, all with an essentiality of lines, in search of a clean and elegant image: the elegance of a harmonious stage that will engage the audience, transfer emotions, and the elegance of the form that, through electromechanical movements, will transform itself to serve the songs, even disappearing completely. The sinuosity, plasticity, and elegance of the architectural lines will involve technological motors with their harmonious movements. The video and stage lighting equipment, entirely innovative, will essentially serve the television images: ‘Optical Games’ will welcome the viewer; «Techno Chandeliers», «Curtains», and «Technological Curtains» will descend from above; and the «Staircase» will move with various technological configurations”.

This is a year of change for the Sanremo Festival, with Carlo Conti returning as artistic director after five years with Amadeus. The event is scheduled for February 11 to 15, and the winner will have the right to represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC).
