RTVE is preparing Spain’s participation in the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2025, and the song Esa diva by Melody will have a new version.

According to the Spanish public broadcaster, the musical production will be renewed with “the aim of reaching a wider European audience with a more international version”.

In these adjustments, the goal is to explore the maximum potential of the original version’s identity elements, including the artist’s voice and versatility. The production was done by EIGHTY4, Rick Parkhouse, and George Tizzard of Red Triangles Records, who have worked with big names in music like Bastille, Camila Cabello, David Guetta, and Måneskin. The recording took place in two studio sessions in the UK at the end of February.

Additionally, RTVE revealed that the music video and artistic direction will be handled by Mario Ruiz. With over 15 years of experience, Ruiz has collaborated with renowned artists like Aitana, Chanel, David Bisbal, and Pablo Alborán. He was also responsible for the opening performance of the 2024 Junior Eurovision Song Contest (JESC).

Spain’s delegation will have choreographers Alex Bullón and Mónica Peña, while Maxi Gilbert will design the lighting, and Mercè Llorens will supervise for RTVE. The costumes will be designed by Raúl Amor, who has been working with Spain at the ESC since 2016.
