Norway will choose its representative at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2025 on February 15. The Melodi Grand Prix will continue to be the national selection, but with some changes.
The broadcaster NRK announced that, unlike since 2020, the contest will only feature the grand final. The last time this happened was in 2019. Next year, the Melodi Grand Prix will be held at the Oslo Spektrum for the first time since 2018.
Ten participants will compete (there were 18 this year), and they will be announced at a press conference on January 16. The presenters have also been revealed: Marte Stokstad, Tete Lidbom, and Markus Neby.
It is worth noting that this will be Norway’s first participation in the ESC after Stig Karlsen left his roles as head of delegation for the ESC and musical director of Melodi Grand Prix. Mads Tørklep is now the head of delegation, while Tarjei Strøm is the new musical director of MGP.
