This year’s controversy has not diminished interest in the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) in the Netherlands: there are 331 songs competing to represent the country in 2025.
The submission window took place between August 1 and November 22. The broadcaster AVROTROS has now announced that it received 331 songs from various genres, such as ballads and rock, in a variety of languages (mainly Dutch and English).
In the coming weeks, the selection committee will review the songs and discuss before making the final decision on the song and its performer.
It was also confirmed that the Netherlands will compete in the ESC in 2026: “The applications for the Dutch entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will open on August 1, 2025”, reads the AVROTROS website.
