The Irish artist won as a performer in 1980 and 1987, and as a songwriter in 1987 and 1992. Last year, Loreen tied his record for performer victories (2012 and 2023), and also claimed her first win as a songwriter.
Now, the Swedish-Moroccan singer is one of the authors competing in Melodifestivalen 2025, Sweden’s national selection for ESC. Loreen has teamed up with Adam «Rymdpojken» Englund and David Björk to create Bara du är där, which will be performed by Ella Tiritiello.
The path to Eurovision won’t be easy, given the strong lineup of contenders in Melodifestivalen, let alone winning the international competition itself.
What is certain, however, is that Loreen has a chance to follow in Johnny Logan’s footsteps and make history next May. Ella Tiritiello will perform in the fourth heat of Melodifestivalen, aiming for a top-two finish to secure a direct spot in the grand final.
