Iceland’s grand final and three more semi-finals: How to follow the Eurovision Saturday

Saturday arrives, and the national selections return for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2025. Tonight, there are four shows: three semi-finals and the grand final in Iceland, where the country will select its representative.

20h00, SuĂ©cia – Melodifestivalen 2025, Heat 4: SVT Play

  • Time: 20h00
  • Broadcast: SVT Play
  • Format: The six participants perform once at the Malmö Arena, but there are two rounds of voting, with the public having the final say. In the first round, the winner of the semifinal is decided. In the second round, the remaining five contestants compete for the second spot in the final and for the «Final qual» place, awarded to the second highest scorer in this second voting phase.
  • Voting: 100% public
  • Other details: Ace Wilder is confirmed as one of the guests, performing a new version of her song Busy Doin’ Nothing with the hosts, Edvin Törnblom and Keyyo, at the beginning of the show.

  • Time: 20h45
  • Broadcast: YouTube, RÚV
  • Format: The final takes place at the RVK studios in Reykjavik, with the six finalists performing only once. The results will be decided equally, with 50% from the international jury and 50 percent from the public.
  • Voting: 50% jury / 50% public
  • Other details: In addition to the participants, there will be performances by two guests: KÀÀrijĂ€ (Finland, ESC 2023) and Hooja.

22h05, Portugal – Festival da Canção 2025, Semi-final 1: RTP1 , RTP Play

  • Time: 22h05
  • Broadcast: RTP1 , RTP Play
  • Format: Ten competitors perform on stage at the RTP studios in Lisbon in a single round of performances. In the first voting phase, the jury and the public each have 50% of the say in the ranking, with the top five advancing to the final. The remaining five participants go to a second round of voting, but this time only by the public, to determine the sixth finalist.
  • Voting: 50% jury / 50% public (1st round); 100% public (2nd round)
  • Other details: There will also be guest performances, not yet specified by RTP. The announced guest artists include iolanda, Os Assessores (with Ana Bacalham, Sara Correia, and Selma Uamusse); JoĂŁo Borsch (with Maria JoĂŁo and Huca); Fogo Fogo (with Orquestra das Batukadeiras de Portugal); and Expresso TransatlĂąntico (with Ana Lua Caiano and The Legendary Tigerman).
