Picture source: Instagram @gretagrantina Grēta has withdrawn from Supernova 2025. The artist was competing in Latvia’s selection for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC), but had to pull out due to health problems.
The announcement was made this Tuesday in a statement from LTV, where Grēta said: “You can never plan everything to the end, because there are circumstances beyond your control. Let this situation be a reminder that we all need to take care of ourselves. I wish [the other participants] to enjoy the shared experience, have fun, and meet new talented people”.
Despite this withdrawal, Supernova will not change its format nor proceed with a replacement. Instead, the number of participants in the semi-final will be reduced to 19, with ten advancing to the grand final.
The semi-final is scheduled for this Saturday, February 1st. The grand final will take place a week later, on February 8th.
