Greece will choose its representative for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2025 on January 29, marking a return to a national selection process.
According to broadcaster ERT, a total of 187 songs were submitted and will be reviewed by a jury of up to five members. A maximum of 12 songs will advance to the final, with an additional three held as reserves.
Since 2017, the Greek public has not played a role in the country’s Eurovision selection. That year, the song was chosen via a national final, though the performer, Demy, was internally selected.
The last fully televised national final took place in 2015, when Maria Elena Kyriakou represented Greece, finishing 19th in the ESC with One Last Breath.
