EMMY won the Eurosong 2025 this Friday, and will represent Ireland at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) with the song Laika Party.
As has been customary in recent years, the Irish selection took place during a special broadcast of The Late Late Show. There were six contestants, with Agdy opening the performance order. EMMY was the last to take the stage.
A special interval act featured three of Ireland’s seven Eurovision winners: Eimear Quinn, Linda Martin, and Niamh Kavanagh joined forces for their rendition of Tattoo (Loreen), the song with which Sweden matched Ireland’s record of seven victories.
The results were decided equally by the public, the international jury, and the national jury of Ireland. The international jury awarded 12 points to Samantha Mumba, while both the national jury and the public preferred EMMY.
In the overall tally, the artist secured 34 points, compared to Samantha Mumba’s 26, who came in second. Thus, EMMY will represent Ireland with Laika Party, four years after being a finalist in Norway’s selection.
