Germany has officially started the search for its representative at the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) 2023, with the opening of the submission period. This lasts until November 28.

The broadcaster NDR decided to innovate. Applications can be made on the ARD’s official website, as well on the website eurovision.de… and, for the first time, through TikTok using the hashtag #UnserLiedFürLiverpool.

The most promising received entries through that social network will be voted again and whoever wins will participate in the national final. On the other hand, there will also be artists directly approached by NDR.

The selection for the German final will be made by a team of experts made up of members of the German delegation at the ESC, professionals from the music industry, international experts linked to the ESC and members of the pop radio stations of the ARD group as consultants.

It is not yet known how many songs the German national final will feature, depending on the quality of the received songs. The show will take place in early March, on a date yet to be announced. Before the live final, the public will be able to vote online.
